Carp Fishing Holidays In France – How You Can Choose A Good Venue

Fishing in Devon. Pop-ups are a very useful bait to have in your armoury against the elusive and wiry fish and can be used on allsorts of rigs, chod rigs, helicopter rigs etc.

Some new business people find it hard to settle on a single business idea because they are worried about missing out on new opportunities or narrowing their options too early on. But remember, even when you have started your business, it is possible to add new services or products, or even to begin a second or third business. You and your businesses will continue to grow and develop – so in selecting your first business idea you are not saying ‘no’ to other opportunities. However, to give your first business idea a really strong start you might need to put other ideas on hold for a while!

First of all, you need to make sure that the lake chosen by is stocked with good quality carp. Fishing at some lakes, which you are not very sure about, would be nothing more than a sheer waste of your time and money. And obviously you don’t want your carp Fischen in Ungarn in France to get spoilt. So, it is better to do a little research before booking with a particular privately-owned lake in France.

If you’re looking for a carp fishing holiday, or any fishing holiday come to that, don’t think of eBay as…well, eBay. Think of it as a holiday brochure. By that, I mean check the venues, check the prices and check the feedback, just as you might when booking a ‘normal’ holiday. Personally, I’d be looking for a well-written, well presented advertisement for a venue that looks the part, offers the kind of fishing I want and has good feedback. If it’s a shoddy advert, there’s every chance the service you receive will be shoddy too.

A gregarious creature, the carp is most often to be found grouping with six or more other individuals. Ideally, they would chose a quiet environment which has plenty of floating vegetation to provide lots of shade. Carp are bed feeders, as thus are difficult to spot from above water. You will, however, be able to tell if they are indeed there.

Apart from a couple of exceptions, the most notable probably being Angling Lines, the carp fishing holiday market is pretty disorganised. I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s just that it’s mainly one-man bands offering a single lake or two for hire. There are a few tackle manufacturers offering their own lakes, such as Lac Cavagnac from Nash and Gigantica from Korda (bookings for Gigantica are handled by Angling Lines), but neither company has yet gone into the whole carp fishing holiday thing in a massive way.

The moment of truth came when you felt a tug of the line and soon the hooked snakehead would struggle violently against being caught and brought to land. To me, that was the high point of a fishing trip and I would not trade it for anything – not even a short break in Wales, or, for that matter Pembrokeshire Holidays. And speaking of fishing holidays, I promise myself that I must go to the deep jungles of Amazon for my next fishing expedition.
